Oakdale is actively investing in infrastructure and community projects to enhance the quality of life for its residents. The City Council recently approved a $6.6 million street reconstruction project aimed at replacing aging infrastructure and improving safety for both pedestrians and motorists. This initiative underscores the city’s dedication to maintaining and upgrading its public spaces.
In addition to road improvements, Oakdale is undertaking significant enhancements to its municipal facilities. The Police Department and City Hall, both located at 1584 Hadley Avenue N, are set for expansion and remodeling. Originally constructed in 1979, these buildings have seen minimal updates despite the city’s population nearly doubling since then. The planned renovations aim to modernize the facilities, address current infrastructure challenges, and accommodate future growth.
To facilitate these upgrades, City Hall services will temporarily relocate to the Public Works facility at 3200 Granada Avenue N, starting Tuesday, May 26. Residents should note that City Hall will close on Thursday, May 21, at 5 PM, with services unavailable on Friday, May 22. This temporary move is part of the broader effort to ensure that city services continue uninterrupted during the construction period.
These projects reflect Oakdale’s proactive approach to community development, ensuring that the city’s infrastructure and public services evolve in tandem with its growing population and changing needs.
